Here’s a good question – “Why are you in business?” Behind all the content, behind all the value, behind all the relationship building goals – lies the DESIRE TO MAKE MONEY! ..right?
If that’s NOT your end goal, then you’re official running a non-profit organization – and I honestly don’t think you’ll ever see the day where you’ll be 100% financially free.
So in this post I’m gonna share with you 2 simple ways to monetize so you can at least cover your hosting, autoresponder and any other monthly expense that comes from being an online entrepreneur.. (..which isn’t much )
2 Surprisingly Simple Ways To Monetize Your Blog
We can all agree that our blog is the central hub of our business, it’s what we use to attract visitors and prospects into our business – But does that mean we can’t monetize it? one word: NO, of course it doesn’t..
Here they are:
- 1st Way – Affiliate Product Banners – This is by far the easiest to implement. It takes absolutely no work to maintain after they’re up, your job after that is to see if the affiliate offers that you put up are converting well, and making you money. If not.. move on to other affiliate offers that might suit your audience better.
- 2nd Way – Recommended Tools & Resources - This is a very useful tips for those targeting online marketers, small and home business owners. Since they’ll need domains, hosting and an autoresponder, you can recommended your favorite and get paid when they sign up.
You’ll find that over time the tools and resources you use will start paying for themselves because of the amount of people who sign up through your link. So don’t hesitate to get these things set up – you might be leaving a bunch of money on the table..
The THIRD Way & A Quick Favor…
The third way of monetizing is explained in more detail on day 5 of the Blogging Blueprint video course. This takes a bit longer but it’s well worth it. Which brings me to this…
I’m very excited about this new product I’m creating, and I’m almost done with it – But before I upload it to the members area and release it, I wanted to make sure I covered everything I needed to cover.
Can you help me out? There’s a quick 2 question survey that should take you a minute to fill out, can you do me that favor and take that quick survey?
Here’s the link: http://www.hectorjcuevas.com/questions/ Plus, you’ll get more details about the program on that page.
If you enjoyed this post, please share it, tweet it, digg it, and stumble it – I’d really appreciate it. Leave me your thoughts below..

Hey Hector,
It’s a cool thing when you can have your blog pay for itself. Monetizing your blog not only allows you to suggest products or services to your readers that can help them move forward in their business, but it puts a little money in your pocket for making the suggestion and helps build more value in you as well.

That’s the best feeling anyone could ever ask for.. (except for love – that one’s great too) but in a business sense.. money coming in on complete auto-pilot, just by offering value is like heaven..

I have to admit I have conflicting thoughts on how to monetize your hub.
Squeeze it or Focus it.
The focus of your hub is to have readers take action but subscribing to your list. In theory you can monetize them there by taking them through your funnel. Some would argue that your hub should just focus on this action.
To squeeze your hub, or more accurately squeeze your readers for whatever you can get out of them if they do not join your list. If they do not join your list are they likely to click on a banner ad, hard to say.
Like I said, I am conflicted on this issue

Hey Peter..
Great question/concern you have there.. it all falls back to testing and tweaking. If people aren’t subscribing then I suggest tweaking your offer a bit.
Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend placing ads and banners when you’re first building your audience for the simple fact that they don’t know you and might get the wrong impression.
Now – I also recommended making “the OPT-IN” the MAIN focus because that leads to a long term business – BUT you need cashflow in order to build.. so, when you get your audience, provide value, and build relationships you can place banners and see how much they can make you..
If they cover expenses, you’re on the right track. More traffic = More Profit!
hope that helps

I loved your remark about Why you are in business: “If that’s NOT your end goal, then you’re official running a non-profit organization – and I honestly don’t think you’ll ever see the day where you’ll be 100% financially free.” You hit the nail on the head. We’re all here to make some money other wise we’re just wasting time that could be spent doing income producing activities. In other words, procrastinating.
I look forward to hearing more about your new product.
